5 Ways to Decorate with Kilim Pillows

Vintage handwoven rugs and pillows add so much charm to a home. They tell a story with each thread.

This post is sponsored by Revival Rugs. A brand new company specializing in affordable kilim pillows and rugs. Revival sent me a few Kilim pillows to try out and I love them so much.

Revival Rugs just launched this month and before I share some fun ways in using the pillows, I wanted to share a bit about the company. They were founded by four friends – Ben and Amber who are based in Oakland, CA and their friends Kurt and Joyce who are based in Istanbul, Turkey. The concept all started when Ben and Amber wanted to buy a handwoven rug for their home and couldn’t believe the costs.
As a home owner trying to find affordable rugs for our own home, I have to tell you there aren’t many sources out there. Revival Rugs imports beautiful one of a kind rugs and pillows from Turkey at really great value. The rugs are between 30-100 years old. All go through the Revival Process and I thought you’d want to see the video they made here:

They sent me several sets of their pillows which are made from vintage kilim rugs. I was so excited when they arrived, beautifully packaged:

Are you wondering what Kilim means?

ki·lim
/kēˈlēm/
noun: a flat-woven carpet or rug made in Turkey, Kurdistan, and neighboring areas.
I’ve long been a fan of oriental rugs and pillows. When I was a young girl our home was filled with them. My mom had quite a collection. Now in my own home, I’m drawn to this look both for floor covers and throw pillows. I thought it might be fun to share how to use Kilims in your own home.
