Friday Favorites (4)

Let’s get the weekend started with a few of my favorite things. Here are my Friday favorites.

You may remember that I started this series to feature a few of my favorite things from clothes, to paints, to food, and things to do with the kids. If you missed any you can see them here.

Favorite Yoga Pants / Barre Socks

It’s been my goal this year to get in shape, mentally and physically. I enjoy classes at Balance Studio in Cohasset where I have a monthly unlimited pass and try and go every day. I’ve been mixing yoga, barre, and pilates.

I just ordered these yoga pants and absolutely love them. I like that they have a high rise waist and no seams. They stay put and I really feel like I can move in class. They come in all colors but I’m partial to black 😉

For Barre I’m loving these Toesox and Amazon has them in multi packs.

Favorite Recipes

We’re trying to mix in more veggies and beans into our diet. I’m loving the New York Times Cooking App for getting new ideas. We made this delicious bean stew and black bean tacos. Our kids loved both so thought I’d share this great resource with you guys. You may need to create an account to access cooking app.

Favorite Chocolate

Many of you may already know our friends own Taza Chocolate. I actually interviewed them for my Creativity Over Coffee Series which you can read here. We took the kids on a factory tour the other week and it was so much fun. Hearing Alex and Kathleen’s story while touring the factory and sampling a copious amount of chocolate was amazing. You can feel the passion and love for chocolate in the factory. If you’re local I highly recommend taking a tour. The factory is in Somerville. If you’re in that neck of the woods stop by the Flatbread Co. for pizza and bowling.

All their chocolate is dairy free, but this is a newer chocolate that tastes like milk chocolate. It’s so creamy but doesn’t have any dairy.

I snapped this photo while at the Factory – this would be a great place to visit February or April vacation if you’re around.

Favorite Films

Little Women – I think you guys all know how much we love going to the movies and watching movies here at home. Over the Christmas break I went to see Little Women with my mother-in-law and absolutely loved it. Greta Gerwig, the director, did such a fabulous job weaving in the story of Louisa May Alcott into the story. A beautiful film depicting women and their dreams and also showcasing Massachusetts, where it was filmed.

Eddie the Eagle – this film has been out for a long time and we watched it on FX. It really is an inspiring feel good film. Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman were amazing. Luke remembered when Eddie the Eagle was in the olympics but the boys and I hadn’t heard of him until watching the film.

Marriage Story – a very real feeling film. We watched it on Netflix. The dialogue, the emotion. It really shows a depiction of divorce where there is two sides to a marriage and sometimes a marriage just falls apart.

Favorite Earrings

My friend owns Where Watermelons Grow and I told Luke I really wanted a pair of her sea pearl earrings for Christmas. This was in a box under the tree 😉 I’ve worn them every day since Christmas.

Favorite Blanket

This was the other thing that was on my Christmas list. I LOVE faux fur blankets and love curling up with this one infront of the fire. Luke and the boys surprised me with it – Faux Fur Mongolian Patchwork Throw. This blanket is currently on sale.

This gorgeous painting is by my good friend, Becky O’Toole, of The Pink Frame. Isn’t it stunning? I have it hanging in our dining room and every time I look at it, it makes me so happy.

I shared more about it in this post here. You can also read my interview with Becky here.

Well, I think that’s it for Friday Favorites. What are you guys loving right now. I’d love some book recommendations if you have any! I’m still reading The Goldfinch. Happy Friday, everyone. xx
