A Grown Up Halloween Party

It is entirely possible that I like Halloween more than my children.

When I was little, my mom would make my costumes.  One year I was Michael Jackson (Thriller – Michael Jackson) another year I was a witch (with a green face mask that hardened on my face as I trick or treated) and another year a bride.  I even went as a mermaid….I walked very slow that year (my poor Dad).

Each year, I get very excited decorating the house.  I already shared our Halloween Mantel, click here if you missed it.

I really love the simplicity and elegance of black and white for Halloween.

Well, now I’ve moved into the dining room.

I got basic white napkins and a tablecloth from Home Goods and used gorgeous stencils from Royal Design Studios to created an elegant Halloween tablescape.

It is really quite simple.  I used the Flat Black Royal Stencil Creme and stenciled lace doilies in a haphazard overlapping pattern, I used the Diana Lace Doily Stencil.

You can see the effect above. Conor also helped me make these caramel apples…. at 7am… Ha! Ha! The life of a blogger right!

How to Stencil a Halloween Tablescape

The napkins were also created with a stencil. I used the same flat black stencil creme.

I did this with the bird tile stencil.  Doesn’t it look like bats?

Shimmery pumpkins, Moscow mule glasses and Halloween candles complete the look.

It was hard to keep Conor’s hands out of the cupcakes and candy corns….

I hope this little tablescape will inspire one in your own home.  This was really quite easy and most of the items I had around our home.

I don’t know about you but we’re getting ready for a big, spooky Halloween night.  The boys are already talking about Trick or Treating in the Harbor.  If they could just decide on what they want to be…
