A Thrifted Centerpiece
I don’t know what it is about old printers’ trays and drawers but when I see them I HAVE to buy them. Isn’t that crazy???? Do you guys ever feel the same way.
I just think they’re so versatile and great for decorating.
Today I’m going to share what I did with this old drawer, I made a thrifted centerpiece and it’s perfect if you like coastal or farmhouse style.
This is really such an easy little craft or DIY. All you need is a drawer or printers tray and a collection of things you love!
How to Make a Thrifted Centerpiece
I found this drawer last year with Luke at Todd Farm Flea Market, actually I bought four of these at $5 a piece. There was just something about them. I loved the gun metal gray (original paint) and those brass pulls. Well, you all know how I feel about old hardware….
Anyway, its a dream of mine for Luke to build soemthing that these drawers could go in. 😉 I hope he’s reading this right now. Ha! Ha!
The drawers were used in a workshop and have sections in them, perfect for collections.
I filled this with shells (of course).
A vintage ball jar filled with flowers and grasses from our garden:
The sea grass makes a statement!
Oh, and this green fish float, it’s an antique (I have a set of three), is always perfect to add!
Together these make quite a pretty vignette. It’s perfectly laid back for our coastaly lifestyle and easy to move when we want to eat pizza or Chinese infront of the TV.
I hope next time you come across a tray or drawer you’ll scoop it up and repurpose it!

Cute! I like this idea. I have the printer’s boxes with small sections and used to have them on the wall filled with miniatures. I like the way you have yours set up with natural items in the cubbies. I tend to collect things from outside and this is a nice way to display them.
