Meet Kate – she’s youthful, modern & British. Some would have you call her “Catherine” but Kate is more fun, right?

As you can see, she was in need of a little makeover (unlike the Duchess of Cambridge). I washed the table down and did two coats of clear shellac.
You all know, that we love all things British in our house – my hubby being English and my kids being half. I just can’t get enough of Blighty. You may remember the union flag bureau I did for my son’s room, but I wanted this to have a more modern twist, but be subtle too.
I painted the bottom half of the table in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in French Linen. It is a really lovely color and is almost a mushroom color, a brown grey. Lovely, lovely color. Then I did ASCP in Old White on the top. Luke followed these instructions to tape the top for me. We opted to do the white first this time because it only meant taping once.
|Using Frog Tape|
We used Frog tape for this one. The yellow tape is for delicate surfaces and I liked it better than the Scotch delicate surfaces tape. There was less bleeding and pealing.
