Friday Favorites is a series where I share my favorite hobbies, books, films, TV shows, style and more!

This spring is really ticking along. I can’t believe it’s the middle of May and my birthday is this weekend! So, here goes my Friday Favorites for May! I’m so excited to share ALL my favorite things with you!

Favorite Floral Display

This gorgeous floral display at Lucky Finn Cafe by Beach Plum Floral. It was done for Mother’s Day Weekend and it took my breath-away.

I visited the night before but wasn’t happy with the light and couldn’t get the right shot, but I got up really early and snapped these with the sun coming up:

Favorite Time of Day

The morning is my absolute favorite time of day. The above photos were taken at 5:30am. It was so peaceful in the harbor. So quiet with just the birds singing. It made me wonder why I don’t get up at 5am every morning. Are you a morning or a night person?

Favorite Books

Lately I’m drawn to suspense and mysteries. I just read Oh, Danny Girl by C. Michele Dorsey. It’s about a lawyer who’s life isn’t what it appeared and it’s set in my town! So that was fun.

I’m currently reading The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley. As the title implies it’s set in an old Paris apartment. I can’t put it down. Her books are thrillers and easy reads. I also enjoyed The Hunting Party and The Guest List. All would make great beach reads!

Favorite Lighting

These shell sconces. I shared them as part of our coastal bedroom reveal if you missed it!

Favorite TV and Films

I absolutely loved Death on the Nile directed by Kenneth Brannaugh. Wonderful cast, design and script!

Uncharted was entertaining, if implausible.

We LOVED Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? on Brit Box. It’s written and directed by Hugh Laurie and is a lot of fun. Luke and I are currently watching Suspicion and Slow Horses on Apple TV.

Favorite Recipe

Theses Chocolate Orange Banana Muffins are soooooo good. Let me know what you think of the recipe!

Favorite Bedding & Bed

Okay, one more mention of our room. This is my favorite bed and I LOVE our new bedding from Ikea! Special tip: to make a bed feel more cozy use the next size up for duvet and duvet cover. We use a king size duvet and duvet cover on our queen bed!

Favorite Outing & Hats

We recently took our kids to the North End and we enjoyed a lovely dinner at Bricco, but we first went to the hat shop – Salmagundi. They have amazing hats if you’re in need of one! Those are new hats the boys are sporting 😉
