Sea smoke over the atlantic in Scituate MA

Favorite View

Last month it got so cold here. It was -5°F. It was too cold to walk or go outside but we did get up really early to see the sea smoke coming off the water. I actually shared a reel of it. Isn’t that amazing???

Favorite Books

I picked up a copy of Susan Branch’s Distilled Genius at Buttonwood Books. If you don’t live locally it’s also available on Amazon. If you love watercolor and inspiring quotes you will LOVE this book!

Favorite New Pattern

I gave a little sneak peek at a new pattern collection in this post on creative entrepreneurship! I haven’t released the whole “A Shore Thing” Collection yet but starting to on my Spoonflower Shop. Here’s a few peeks at the starfish pattern. This will be available in more colorways.

Favorite Piece of Furniture

Did you see the new table Luke built me?!? It really is just so amazing and we’re all loving it. Not only is it beautiful but there’s plenty of space to sit and have pizza with a movie infront of the TV.

Favorite Blankets

I also need to mention that blanket. We’re HUGE fans of Chappy Wraps – the boys, Max and I all love these blankets. I would include Poppy too but she doesn’t get up on the couch. I took this photo one night while we were watching TV.

The blankets are so warm and cozy. We have two and have gifted them to our moms and other people. I love them so much I thought I’d round up a few of my favorite styles.

Favorite TV & Movies

You can find us on the couch snuggled with Max and our Chappy Wraps. Ha! Ha! Here are some films and TV shows we’re loving lately.

Two Guns – This is actually an old film with Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington. Conor, our youngest, loves suspenseful films and LOVES Mark Wahlberg. This was really good and a fun watch. It definitely keeps you guessing. (The trailer may give too much away).

Lou – This is super suspenseful too. Allison Janney is wonderful! We really enjoyed this one! Also kept us guessing…

Ticket to Paradise – This is actually just a really funny and light film. Julia Roberts and George Clooney are great together. Great Date Night In movie!

Inside Man – We just started watching this series and have only seen the very first episode, but it’s riveting and has a wonderful cast. Stanley Tucci and David Tennant as you’ve never seen them before!

Favorite Online Art Classes

John and I are doing an online class together with Ohn Mar Win on drawing on tonal paper. We’re having so much fun with it.

Here are some of the supplies you’d need:

These were lemons John did:

I’m happy to offer my readers one month of Skillshare premium for free! I find trying new classes and techniques makes me happy and a more curious artist and maker.

Favorite Beverage

Can of Spindrift Nojito on cedar table

I’m a HUGE Spindrift fan and can’t believe they now have a “nojito” flavor. It tastes just like a mojito and is so refreshing. In fact, I have a feeling on summer evenings we may we may need to add a little rum. Yum!

Favorite Room

Over February Vacation week we started the college search with John. One of the schools we visited is Rhode Island School of Design. I might share more about the college tours in a later post but for now I wanted to share this amazing space at RISD.

This is the nature lab:

The Nature Lab at RISD works as almost a library for students. They can come to the nature lab and sketch or paint OR they can take out these specimens to use as reference in their studio as they would a book.

I was mesmerized. I could have spent an entire day in there happily.

I took loads of photos of butterflies.

It really was a special place:

Favorite Sign of Spring

I found these growing in my yard. Pretty little snow drops. I feel like it’s a sign of spring. Do you?
