A Fall Banner Free Printable and Our Mantel

This year I thought it would be fun to do something for our mantel.  I found the door at Todd Farm with my hubby this summer and I adore the chippy paint on it.  I knew it would be the perfect backdrop to transition from summer to fall.

My free printable consists of two parts, the pennants that were created from a 1950s almanac and some letters.  Click here for the pennants and here for the letters.  I also did another version of the letters in bronze (here) and outlined (here).  I had thought I wanted copper but then couldn’t see them against the pages.  The copper would be really pretty against a dark background.

I used adhesive dots to stick my letters to the pennants and then punched holes in the pennants and hung them with twine.

I love decorating with antique books and this season was inspired by these gorgeous red ones.  I love the gold writing and the marbled fronts.

I adore these pheasant feathers a reader gave me with the jar and pretty bow from Amy Chalmers of Maison Decor.

As you know the ocean and Britain are never far from my heart.  I upcycled an old door knob with a beautiful sea fan.  I love how the sea fan looks as if it is floating in the water, being drawn by the tide.

The vintage whisky bottle, well, I found that at the dump at our “Take It or Leave It” section.  I just couldn’t leave it there.
