Happy Friday, friends? Can you believe I missed Friday Favorites for August?!? Sorry about that – between our family vacation, the studio, and vertigo it must have slipped off my radar, but I have lots of favorites to share with you today!

Favorite Beach Day
Would you believe me if I told you we only made it to the beach once this summer (on Labor Day) to sit and relax. I read and then fell asleep to the sound of the surf. There’s nothing quite like the beach for relaxation. Who knows maybe we’ll be a able to sneak a few more beach days in this month (fingers crossed).
Favorite Books
I’m finishing Theo of Golden which is wonderful. I mentioned it last month. It is just a nice book about a nice man set in a lovely town.
I just ordered Beatrix Potter Drawn to Nature which is the book that went along with the V&A show of her work of the same name. I can’t wait to make a big pot of tea and devour this book. It’s currently 34% off the cover price on Amazon. I love Beatrix Potter and her watercolors. I really wish I was able to see the exhibit but Luke did drive me all the way to her home in the Lake District. Favorite TV and Films
TV
Recently we’ve been watching The Hawk on Netflix. We love Will Ferrell and this is just fun if you want something light.
Films
On the plane I watched several really, really good films.
500 Miles – I absolutely LOVED this film. It had me laughing and crying on the plane to the point where the flight attendant wanted to know what I was watching. Its about two brothers on a 500 mile journey to get to their grandfather’s home in Ireland. Bill Nighy is amazing! Maybe don’t want the trailer that I’ve linked because it might give some too much away…
After the Hunt – Star studded cast and I got sucked into the storyline. The setting is an elite college when a student accuses a professor of inappropriate behavior and what happens AFTER. This is so well done and leaves the viewer questioning reactions, motives, and everyone at the unversity.
Anniversary – Kyle Chandler, Diane Lane. What starts off as a happy anniversary celebration twists and turns into a gripping thriller. I couldn’t stop watching.
Favorite Trip
This has to be our family trip to England and Sweden. We went for two weeks in August and we celebrated our niece’s wedding weekend and also celebrated my mother-in-law’s 80th birthday. It was lovely. On either end of the trip we explored Bath and London. I plan to write a few posts about our trip, which will be coming soon. For now here’s a peek at Sweden:

Favorite Skin Care
Lately I’ve been using these two skin care products and I love them so much. Both are by Tatcha. I love the Dewy Skin Cream for my dry skin. It feels light and sheer but also feels hydrating. I also really love their eye cream. Tired eyes be gone!

Favorite New Product
We just launched Fall Paintable cards and they’re really getting me in the mood for Autumn and pumpkin spice!
Favorite Frozen Painkiller
You all know how much I love St. John and Painkiller cocktails. Well, what I did’t know was that Untold offers frozen Painkillers. These are so refreshing and make you feel like your almost in the Caribbean.
