Friday Favorites (6)

LET’S GET THE WEEKEND STARTED WITH A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS. HERE ARE MY FRIDAY FAVORITES.

You may remember that I started this series to feature a few of my favorite things from clothes, to paints, to food, and things to do with the kids. If you missed any you can see them here.

I know in these times, we’re all looking for a little sunshine. This month’s Friday Favorites is devoted to the simple pleasures of home. Early this week I shared 100 things to do when you’re stuck at home. You might want to check that out.

Favorite Past-time – Watercolor

Over the last week and a bit I’ve been leaning on creativity. It makes me feel happy to create things.

I find painting in watercolors so meditative. Lately, I’ve been focusing on things I love – like summer and the beach. The other day I painted my sunglasses and a bikini (I wish I could fit into).

I’m planning on using some of these into a Summer Favorites Print (similar to my winter favorites which you can see here).

I also am a lover of seashells. I love collecting them on the beach with the kids and I did a few pen and ink shells the other day and I’m looking forward to doing more and more of these.

Favorite Recipe

I made this amazing one pot pasta bake last week and I think it’s gonna be a weekly occurrence in our home! You know how picky kids can be. The recipe is by Melissa Clarke and we have a few of her instant pot cookbooks which are fabulous.

At 1pm each day we tune into Lunchtime Doodles with Mo Willems. The boys have grown up with his books and he sparks creativity in all of us to get through the rest of the day. I think you’ll love watching him.

Favorite Mini Series

We just finished Sanditon on PBS. It was an unfinished novel by Jane Austen, which they turned into a mini series. I wasn’t 100% happy with the ending but we really enjoyed watching it. I’m a huge Jane Austen fan.
