Favorite Outing

We enjoyed a trip to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston.

Gardens and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

You may know about it because of the heist that happened in 1990 – 13 pieces of artwork were stolen and still have not been recovered. It is my favorite museum in Boston.

We went for my birthday and enjoy the gardens, the art, and rose and charcuterie at the cafe. If you’re in Boston and looking for a place to make you feel inspired, this is it!!! You can see a video of the gardens I created.

Favorite Books

I finished The Paris Apartment and this book had me on the edge of my seat (literally), it kept me guessing right up until the end and I think it’s my favorite of Lucy Foley’s books.

I’m loving Finding Freedom, the memoir of Erin French (the owner of The Lost Kitchen). We devoured the two series on Discovery + documenting life at the her restaurant in Maine (and sent our post card in again this year, but no call yet). Her cookbook –The Lost Kitchen is also fabulous. I love the Rhubarb Spooncake and just made it again over the weekend 😉

Favorite Painting

I ended up turning my watercolor painting of the floral display at The Lucky Finn into note cards! I hope you enjoy how it came out as much as I do! You can shop note card sets and singles. They’re also be available at Buttonwood Books, The Lucky Finn, and Acquire Good.

Favorite Film

I know everyone probably has already seen this film, but I fell IN LOVE with CODA. What an amazing film. I laughed. I cried (a lot). I just loved it so very much.

Favorite Body Cream

I have dry skin and use this amazing cream all year round!

Working Together in the Yard

We’ve been busy demo-ing our back deck, tearing down the old rotting shed, and will be removing our old raised beds. John and I planted our garden behind the pool house. You may remember we had our flower garden there last year. I’m so happy and excited about the updates we’re making to our backyard.

We’re huge fans of these bamboo trellises too! They worked perfectly for our sweet peas last year and going to use them for cucumbers and tomatoes this year.

Favorite Flip Flops

Yay! It’s flip flop season again and my feet are happy! These are my favorite and most comfortable flip flops.

Favorite Joy

I think the thing that brings me the most joy is watching our garden and plants grow again. I love watching them unfurl and thrive. It always seems so impossible right after winter that things will grow again, but they do.

Here’s a peek at some of our plants –

Rain covered peonies:

Our front yard is filled with these. A kind of secret garden. I shared this video and you can see the paver walkway tutorial.

If you’re looking for some ideas for your garden you may to check out these: summer patio ideas, 5 flowering plants, and Favorite Outdoor Plants and Flowers.

My favorite part is bringing them indoors and enjoying them inside:

Oh!!!! Those Isabella gardens are BEAUTIFUL!!!! I am a BIG time gardener, can so appreciate them. That is terrible about the heist. How do they think they can resell them? I hope they don’t damage them in the meantime. That food plate looked yummy too!!! As does your garden flowers! Have a good weekend!!!! xx
