For the Book Lover

I adore books and am an avid reader. I’m really excited to share something NEW for the book lover!

Since January I’ve been working on a new idea and new watercolor paintings and I’m so excited to finally share these new things with you!

Old books and watercolor bookplates with pussy willows and candle

Introducing our NEW bookplates! Our bookplates are pretty watercolors on archival adhesive paper labels. Currently available in our online shop in four styles and one style exclusive to Buttonwood Books & Toys.

What are Bookplates?

Bookplates, also known as Ex Libris plates, are used to denote ownership. They are a fun way to write your name in your book without writing on a book. Historians have recorded the use of these dating back to Ancient Egypt and Europe during the Middle Ages. Who knew?

Why You’ll Love Our Bookplates

  • each bookplate is large it measures 4″ x 3″
  • We hand cut each bookplate
  • Our bookplates are printed on premium adhesive paper and are archival

Add these to treasured books, journals, and notebooks to keep track of your collection!

I jokingly shared a photo of Luke and me packing these but this is our little factory of 2! We pack and cut everything in the dining room. Ha! Ha!

The Buttonwood Bear

In addition to the bookplates, I wanted to share a really fun collaboration! If you’re local to the South Shore then you know the Buttonwood Bear – he sits outside the shop on a little Adirondack chair and greets visitors. My kids grew up cuddling this bear.

I was honored to paint this bear and create products exclusive to Buttonwood Books.

The Buttonwood Bear is available as stickers & bookplates (and notepads will be coming soon)! I just dropped them off at Buttonwood the other day. You can see a little reel I shared of him.

Kathy and Susan at Buttonwood Books and Toys have been so supportive of my and my art. I will forever be grateful for their encouragement and trusting me with such a special subject.

I hope you like him and the other bookplates I shared. It really is so much fun coming up with new ideas and products.
