Friday Favorites (34)

Friday Favorites is a series where I share my favorite hobbies, books, films, TV shows, style and more!

I can’t believe it’s April. It sure doesn’t feel like it in Scituate. Lately the weather has been raw and wet and cold… Brrr. Especially when we’re out walking the dogs! I’m so ready for spring!

Favorite Clothing

I just wore the most comfortable dress to the Scituate Education Foundation Dinner. I bought it for a wedding but couldn’t resist wearing it early. The dress actually has pockets!

In fact, it’s getting to the time of year where I love the wardrobe choices. I’m drawn to classic lines and silhouettes. I’m short so I have to be careful what I choose. Here’s a few things that caught my eye and I’m eager to get some more jumpsuits and sundresses. I live in them when the weather gets warmer.

Favorite Podcasts

I love listening to Podcasts when I’m gardening or driving or packing things up for our shop.

I recently discovered Nora Jone’s Podcast – Playing Along with Nora Jones. It’s fabulous. I really love Nora Jones’ music and she has different singers and musicians on each episode and it’s part interview and part jam session. Each one is different and really interesting. I find it very inspiring.

While Luke and I were packing up bookplates we listened to all eight episodes of Serial – The Coldest Case in Laramie – it is a true crime podcast about a murder that took place 37 years ago. Gosh, we were sucked IN!

Favorite New Products

Earlier this week I shared more about our NEW bookplates and a little collaboration I did with Buttonwood Books & Toys.

Here’s a peek at the bear that is available exclusively at the bookshop:

The other bookplates are available in our online shop.

Favorite Pasta Dish

Can you smell the creamy tomato basil???

Pasta dish with shrimp

I enjoyed this shrimp pasta dish at Alma Nove in Hingham. It was so lovely.

Favorite Films and TV

We watched the second Murder Mystery and it was really funny. If you’re in the mood for something light.

We’re so happy that Ted Lasso is back on. We love it so much!

Unstable is pretty fun so far. It’s fun seeing Rob Lowe and his son acting together.

Favorite Online Art Classes

I love this botanical drawing class with Sharone Stevens. She takes you through various different perspectives and how to draw them. The class covers several flowers.

For this class you’ll need some paper, a pencil, eraser and micron pens.

I’m happy to offer my readers one month of Skillshare premium for free! I find trying new classes and techniques makes me happy and a more curious artist and maker.

Favorite House

I often see this house while we’re out walking the dogs and it’s one of my favorites in Scituate. You can find it on the way to First Cliff. Isn’t it pretty?

Favorite Gadget

I love my water flosser. It’s great for traveling too.

I’m dreaming of sweet cream and nuts from Sundae School on the Cape. I don’t get there until late July and I can’t wait! Love your blog, especially the local scene.
