Finding Silver Pennies

Hello World!

I’ve decided to start writing with an audience as I’ve been ‘benched’ from my usual stress release of yoga and pilates due to ‘Runner’s Knee’ despite not running.  Who gets runner’s knee from yoga?!?  I am a stay at home mom and wife and live in the small seaside town of Scituate (known as the Irish Riviera to locals).  I have two young boys 5 & 1 and one gorgeous puppy.  I met my husband in England and he is certainly my Mr. Darcy (swoon).  If you are interested in his musings as a software engineer who works from home you can follow him here: http://ps-udad.blogspot.com/

My blog is called Finding Silver Pennies after a book my mother gave me when I was 11.  http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1003991.Silver_Pennies It is a magical poem book about fairies.  Silver pennies are very rare and according to the author, “You must have a silver penny to get into fairyland.”  It is really quite a beautiful book and has been such an inspiration to me over the years – keeping journals, writing poems and short stories growing up.  Hopefully, I can still keep the magic of fairies alive in my own life.  My sons favorite movie is “Tinkerbell: The Great Fairy Rescue”.  He said to me, “Mom, you know fairies are real?”  I responded, “Really, how do you know?”  John with a twinkle in his eye said, “Well, the tooth fairy is real.”
