The Art of the English Kitchen: A Morning at deVOL in London
Let’s talk about the art of the English kitchen today! It’s truly my favorite kitchen style and I adore all the designs by England based deVOL Kitchens. I love their use of brass, period specific details, large cabinets, and hand crafted cabinets. I still have many, many years before we can afford to do our kitchen over but love gathering ideas and inspiration. We will have to wait until both our boys are finished with university.

Visiting deVOL
Let’s step inside deVOL Kitchens St. John’s Square showroom in London. We visited last May and can’t wait for you to see the photos. You may remember I shared some fun spots in London and our visit to Beatrix Potter’s home.
Tucked in this unassuming townhouse in Clerkenwell amongst leafy trees is the magnificent shop.

Spread across three floors is some of the most beautifully styled kitchens I’ve ever seen! Like many of you I have watched the deVOL shows on Magnolia Network and I have their brochure and book, which are gorgeous by the way!

Swoon-Worthy Kitchens
I would love to do shaker style cabinets like these but probably in white for our own kitchen. Except I’m dreaming of pairing the cabinets with an AGA range, similar to what Luke’s family had growing up.

I love how Helen and the deVOL team style their spaces – notice the use of gorgeous oil paintings, plants, and copper pots. I also dream of this style faucet, the aged brass Ionian faucet.

Colorful Accents
I love classic white kitchen but must admit that their colorful accents are stunning in person.

These handmade tiles make such a big statement, even in small spaces. They are gorgeous.
Beautiful Lighting
When we do our kitchen over I can’t wait to add some period-inspired lighting. How pretty and delicate are these ruffled lights? I love how the chord looks like it’s an antique piece.

Stylish Storage
Storage that makes a design statement. deVOL does this best. Look at this eye-catching towel rack:

I think all of us dream of a pantry like this:

Or the perfect place to display antique copper pots with gorgeous marble counters and curved shelves:

This was our first stop in London and it really inspired me so much. I couldn’t wait to see it in person. I very much felt like I was visiting Disney World. One little townhouse filled with so much beautiful and thoughtful design.
The Prettiest Bathroom
We can’t leave with out checking out the bathroom, can we?
Come take a peek…

This bathroom evokes a moody yet charming space. A room that feels calm and relaxed but tidy. The warm painted walls, lush curtain, and patina of brass adds to the charm. As does the pretty bulb and vintage artwork.

It all works so effortlessly together one can’t help but imaging a relaxing soak in this clawfoot tub.
A Dream Come True
Seeing the London showroom in person was definately a dream come true. Everything is just as beautiful in person as I imagined, actually even more so. One day I’d love to visit the Cotes Mill Showroom and New York City. If you haven’t already seen For the Love of Kitchens TV show we highly recommend it.

I hope you enjoyed taking a trip to London with me and this gave you some ideas for your spaces.
