Foraged Fall Centerpiece and Shelves
I have a really fun foraged fall centerpiece and shelves for you on the blog today. I LOVE clipping beautiful things from our yard and turning them into little centerpieces and vignettes. This is such an affordable way of decorating. Here’s a peek:

I take my cue from what’s outside. The Strawberry Vanilla Hydrangeas are the prettiest color right now. I love that warm fuchsia color. I also love the color my limelights are going and I used them on our dining table. I’m so excited to share these two easy ideas with you.

Foraged Shelves
First I clipped some Strawberry Vanilla Hydrangeas and some accent leaves just beyond them. When placing them in my Cornishware I usually use smaller glasses inside that way I don’t have to use so many flower and it also protects my vintage pieces.
The pepper shaker is new and I found in it in an antique shop in Wadebridge in Cornwall when we were there at the end of April.

You may notice I still have my shells on display. I love them year round as you know!

Some of these photos I took with my Nikon and some I took while styling / decorating with my phone.

The Cornishware rolling pin is another new find! I found that when we were in Bristol, England on the same trip. I was so worried about that breaking in my suitcase! The white crock was just a $2 find at Savers. I love these for flowers or utensils.

A peek at all of my collection together:

That’s a glimpse from the living room through our columns.
Okay, let’s head over to the dining table to make a pretty centerpiece together.
On the Hunt For Inspiration
Over the weekend Luke and I went on a little adventure to towns around us – Marshfield, Duxbury, & Hingham. I’ve been in the house recovery so it was nice to be out and about. We visited Duxbury Supply Company for the first time. It’s such a gorgeous shop filled with really different home decor and antiques. I was instantly smitten and inspired. This is the shop:

So much to love, right? Do you see those long stem candles and the candelabra? They instantly captured my heart. How different! I knew I wanted to use them on our dining table and I can’t WAIT to have friends for dinner!
Foraged Hydrangea Centerpiece
Okay, let’s style the dining table together. Here’s what I used:
- Foraged Flowers – I did a mix of Privet (hedge and berries), Limelight Hydrangeas, and Rosemary, and some Sweet Autumn Clematis but you can use whatever you have growing in your yard.
- One Candelabra
- Long Stem Candles

To style the table, I clean everything off and wipe down the wood. Then I placed the candelabra in the the center of the table. I then placed some flowers and greenery on the table. Spreading out across the length.
Then I placed the candles in the candelabra. It’s a bit hard to tighten the metal around the candle so I needed Luke’s help with this.

Okay, you want to see how it came out?

I love how soft the flowers our and the long tapers are so different. I’ve never seen such long skinny candles, but think how pretty they will be glowing at night!

The candelabra is handmade in India and I love the fluted details. It reminds me of a Victorian tea party or some whimsical illustration you might find in a children’s book.

I love the warm tone of the miel candles. I usually use white but love how these candles add warmth.

The autumn clematis is very delicate and will only really last for an event or gathering so I’d pick it right before you have friends over.
Another idea you could do is add apples or branches with apples on them or fall branches with leaves.
Here’s a peek looking from the Welsh Dresser and you can see our built in china cabinet. I know I don’t usually share this perspective.

What do you think of the new candelabra and long tapers? They are made by Floral Society and there are so many things I love on their site. None of these are sponsored links, I just thought you all might like them!

Oooo. Duxbury shop looks so interesting!
Elyse, you would love the shop in Duxbury. Definitely worth a drive over. 🙂
Oh! WOW!! I am loving that new rolling pin. So cute. Yes, I would worry about it breaking on the trip home too. Love those hydrangeas so pretty. They sure do like that coastal weather. You don’t need to “pinch” the metal parts on the candle holders….they sell “candle holding wax”. It is kinda like the soft wax kids use to cover their braces. Just a bit on the ends and it makes candles stand straight up. 3 pictures in the middle of the post did not come out…the ones where the set up was….but the end result ones did… Read more »
Hi Josette, isn’t that amazing? I knew you’d love it! Pinching is what the candle company recommended for placing the tall candles in, but that is a great tip. I have soft wax from Conor’s braces. Hmmm, I wonder why 3 pictures didn’t load. I just checked in an incognito browser and it worked for me. Let me know if you continue to have issues. Hope you have a lovely day!
On the pics…..I checked 3X before I wrote that. I just rechecked and they are there!!! The ones were, the close-up of the flowers, the candle holder and the one of you putting in the candles. mmmmm Just wondering ….is the rolling pin a vintage piece? It is a goodie!!!
Phew! I’m glad they turned up. YES! It’s vintage and so is the pepper shaker. 🙂
