The Writing On the Wall

I don’t know about you, but the wet, rainy weather here in Scituate has got me down.  Perhaps, I suffer from seasonal affected disorder.  Perhaps, it was the fantastic summer weather we experienced in March!  I don’t know the reason, but I really want the sun to be shining.

To pick myself up and think happy beachy thoughts – I made some beach signs for the shop.  I used the same method I used for the boys’ toy chest.

Subway Art Toy Chest

Except instead of starting with ASCP Old White, I used Graphite.  It was so much fun to use all my favorite chalk paint colors.

The soothing and serene Duck Egg Blue:

Cheerful and happy Greek Blue:

Classy and chic Provence:

Then the beautiful Paris Grey:

Each sign lightly distressed for that relaxed beachy look.  I’m going to give people the option of twine to hang, but I really love how they look propped on a shelf or side table.  I love that haphazard look.

Despite the rain falling outside, I almost felt like it was time for the beach inside.  I could imagine the warm sun on my back, the sand between my toes, the sound of my boys giggling at the crabs and the smell of coconut sun tan lotion.  I could really use a beach day.  Could you?

The weather is just as erratic here. Sometimes it’s t-shirt weather and today I had a thick coat on, a hat and scarf to walk the dog !
Yours signs definately remind me of the lovely warm days, and your etsy shop looks great Danielle.
