Summer Must Haves

Okay, FINALLY! Summer weather is here in New England. Part of me is hesitant to put that in writing as I don’t want the warmth and sunshine to leave.

With summer weather upon us I thought I’d share all my favorite summer must haves!

Here in Scituate with so many beaches to choose from AND also having a pool, I find myself wearing lots of swimsuits, cover ups, and sundresses. Read on for all my Summer Must Haves.

Favorite for Women’s Swim

Okay, I know the dreaded bathing suit, but summer is upon us so we do really have to address the women’s swimsuit. This year I actually treated myself to three one piece swimsuits. Many of my swim stuff was old and the elastic was going (not a pretty picture).

Atlantic Swimsuit

You may have seen that Fair Harbor just started doing Women’s Swimwear on my Instagram stories. I was so excited and ordered a swimsuit right away. The suit is pricey BUT it is so comfy and very slimming. It has nice coverage. I always buy their swimsuits for Luke and the kids and they really stand up so well. It’s Fair Harbor’s mission to clean the oceans and their swimwear is made from recycled bottles. This suit is part of their 10 year birthday capsule.

I ordered the Atlantic Swimsuit in Red! I know kind of a daring color for me, but I love it! It’s actually such a happy color and I’m now so happy that I know these suits fit well. I ordered this suit in Medium. They’re currently having a site-wide sale for Memorial Day Weekend.

J Crew Factory Scallop Swimsuit

I found this suit at the Factory Outlet in Hanover and love the classic black silhouette. It’s very sliming and will always remain in style. I also got a medium in this one. I wore the scalloped swimsuit in St. John and I know it will be a favorite this summer, too.

The Carve Camari Swimsuit

This is the Carve Camari Swimsuit, Newport and I found it at Outside In in Cohasset. What I love about this swimsuit is the back! It is really strappy and makes a statement. This is another one I got for our trip to St. John so I wore it hiking and snorkeling. This swimsuit really stays in place, but is stylish at the same time.

Favorite for Men’s Swimwear

As I said above, I always buy Luke, John, and Conor swim shorts from Fair Harbor. We love the durable (they don’t fade), fun colors and patterns, and their conservation efforts. We love the Anchor and Bayberry styles the most and I just also ordered Conor a rashguard in Navy for sailing this summer.

Favorite Sunscreen

You can’t go out in the sun without protecting yourself and we’ve been using SuperGoop! for years! I love the unseen sunscreen for the face and I’m always smearing Play on when we’re at the beach and pool.

Favorite Carry All

My friends over at Easkey Right just created this pouch and it’s great as a purse but also doubles as a bag for wet swim gear or toiletries if you’re traveling. I actually interviewed them in my Creativity Over Coffee series, read the interview.

Favorite Flip Flop

It has to be Reef for me. I have them in white, black, and a mock snakeskin. I love the padded bed. These are perfect and comfy to walk to the beach, BUT they’re also great to pair with a sundress for dinner or lunch out.

Favorite Sunglasses

My favorite sunglasses for myself are my Maui Jim Aviators. I wear them all the time and like that they are polarized. I got them when I had my PRK eye surgery and swear by them.

Favorite Outdoor String Lights

Speaking of outdoor entertaining, our how to hang string outdoor string lights post has been really popular. These are the lights we used in the post and we’ve now had them up for two years and they’re still working great! They also give a nice warm glow. I hate how some LED lights are so bright they hurt my eyes.

Favorite Patio Furniture

I’m just so excited to be able to have EVERY meal and coffee outside. We love sitting out on our back patio. You can see the makeover of the patio here. Last year we bought these beautiful chairs and teak table. We love them so much. I still need to seal them for this season but waiting for some consistent weather to do it.
