New Note Cards for People You Love

Happy Wednesday, friends, I’m delighted to share our newest note card collections. Today we’re not launching one, but two collections and I hope you love them as much as I do! New note cards for people you love!

New for Valentine’s Day

Up first I want to share some new Valentine’s Day cards. These actually could be used any time of year but since Valentine’s Day is a month a way these are perfect for that!

Painting a Magpie

Some are inspired by England, like the Magpie with the gold heart. We see them a lot in Cornwall and Luke always salutes them. There’s an old saying…

One for sorrow, two for joy,
three for a girl, four for a boy.
Five for silver, six for gold,
seven for a secret never to be told.”

Traditional Nursery rhyme

I love watching them. They truly are such beautiful birds and while they look black their feathers have a beautiful blue iridescent quality. The magpie loves shining things and steals them. I even saw a nest online with glittery treasures in it.

The striped blue mug is also inspired by England and my love of Cornishware. You can see my Cornishware collection here and here. I’m always on the look out for more pieces.

Rounding out this collection is a card inspired by beach totes. I loved painting all of these classic totes.

The Just Saying Collection

I also wanted to design a card collection with a little bit more modern or contemporary feel. One of my favorite things about watercolor is watching the paint dance across the paper and make patterns. To create The Just Saying Collection I created gradient washes and abstract scenes using watercolor inks. The result is really saturated and bold color. Something I thought was fun, especially now in winter.

Thinking of you Color Wash Card

There are five cards in all and they say something simple on them. This one could be used for sympathy or could be used to catch up with a loved one. I really had so much fun creating this collection.
