Friday Favorites (16)

Friday Favorites – a series where I share all my favorites from home decor, to clothing, to TV shows and movies we’re loving.

You may remember that I started this series to feature a few of my favorite things from home decor to clothes, recipes and favorite shows. If you missed any you can see them here.

Last month I shared my all time favorites which was fun, click here if you missed it.

Okay, I feel like I’m a bit behind with sharing our favorites this month but here goes…

Cozy living room

Cold & wet days mean more indoor time this month – lots of reading and lazy evenings curled on the couch watching TV and films.

Favorite Finds

These pretty gold rimmed glasses. I used them as vases and candle holders and they just look so magical in our dining room. Check out this post and this post for more vintage / antique styling.

So pretty and simple, right? We’re actually hoping to head to the Cape for a little day trip and maybe some “hunting” for vintage treasures.

Favorite Ottoman

After many years of humming and hawing, I FINALLY ordered ottomans for the living room and we LOVE them. I’ll have to write a whole post on ottomans but for now I just thought I’d share this link and cute photo of Luke and Max. It’s $100 off and so much more affordable than some other places online. These are leather and made in Morocco, the ottomans are filled with cotton. We love them! Please ignore all the mess in this photo – it is a real life photo. 😉

Favorite TV

Oh my goodness, I have so many shows to share with you that we’re loving right now. The Crown didn’t disappoint in season 4. Both Luke and I sat mesmerized watching it. Funny story – my mom actually woke me up really early when I was little and gave me a Royal Breakfast to watch the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. So sad to see that this wasn’t the fairytale romance we imagined.

We’re all loving All Creatures Great and Small. Our kids love it, too. Very heartwarming show and reminds us of living in England.

If you like super hero things, we’re also enjoying WandaVision, especially the first few episodes which mimicked sitcoms of the 40s and 50s.

Another show we were glued to was The Queen’s Gambit. I also loved the sets and fashion. I want Beth Harmon’s wardrobe.

We also just got a subscription to Discovery+ and loving it. I especially love Rehab Addict Rescue. If you love old homes I highly recommend it. The show is real home owners who have invested in older homes and need Nicole Curtis’s help reviving these old treasures. The first episode was so good. I also love Growing Floret which is the story of Floret Flower Farm. I LOVE their books and we’re planning on growing a cutting garden in our yard with their seeds. A must watch.

Favorite Make Up

Bobbi Brown has a new company, Jones Road, and it’s the no make up make up. It’s very natural and cruelty free. I ordered the Jeanne Kit which included a miracle balm, a shadow, lip gloss, and a liquid eye shadow.

I shared about this on Insta Stories yesterday so you maybe saw it. I got the miracle balm in bronze and it gives a nice sun-kissed glow but isn’t heavy or greasy. This isn’t affiliate or sponsored, just thought you’d like the products. 😊

Favorite Movies

We’ve been watching lots of films, some with the kids, and some just the two of us. Here’s what we’ve loved:

  • Godmothered – modern twist on a fairytale with Isla Fisher. Great for the whole family.
  • The Intern -Wonderful Nancy Meyers’ film. I watched this a few years ago with my dad, a few months ago with my mom, and just this month with my guys. Great, feel good film with Robert de Niro and Anne Hathaway.
  • Fury – War movie with Brad Pitt about a tank battalion in WWII. Harrowing. Conor, our youngest, loves war stories.
  • Red Tails – Great film to watch with older children. This is the story of the Red Tails, a crew of African American pilots in the Tuskegee training program. I’m sad to say I didn’t know their story or legacy until watching this film. We had a great discussion with our boys after regarding racial equality.
  • Sergeant Stubby – another war film. This is animated and tells the story of a dog during WWI.  He was the official mascot of the 102nd Infantry Regiment and was assigned to the 26th Division in World War I. Our whole family loved this film.
  • Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy – a great espionage film!

Favorite Pattern

I don’t know why, BUT I’m loving leapard print lately. I blame it on the pandemic and possibly watching Tiger King (just kidding). For whatever reason, I’m love leopard. Shop the look below:

Favorite Books

I’m enjoying home decor books!

For The Love of White – is a stunning book by the founders of The White Company. This book is filled with so many beautiful homes and styles. I’m partial to Chrissie Rucker’s Pool house, see it here.

Beautiful by Mark D Sikes was also a very fun read. I love all his indigo and white.

Well, I think that covers all our current favorites. Now, it’s your turn! Would love to hear what your current favorites are. What are you watching and reading?
