The Best Burgers in Town

The best burgers in town are at Wahlburgers in Hingham (located in the Shipyard).  Wahlburgers is named for chef Paul Wahlberg, of Alma Nove, and his brothers Donnie (NKOTB, Blue Bloods) and Mark (Actor, Producer).  We’re big fans of all the Wahlbergs in our house (especially Paul) and this is our favorite place to get a burger.  They are fantastic!

Set in a V shaped space, decorated with glossy white and green.  There are pictures and signage of the family documented all over the burger palace.  A fun twist on the burger bars of the 1950s – plush, glossy white booths and checkered packaging.

The menu is pretty simple.  Burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, onion rings, tater tots, fries, shakes, fountain drinks and even boozy frappes (I need to go back another time sans kids to have some of these with my hubby).  My boys LOVE the grilled cheese.  The bread is fluffy and buttery and the cheese oozes out.

My favorite is the BBQ Bacon Burger with turkey.  It is a burger patty topped with white cheddar cheese, bacon, avocado, fresh jalepenos and BBQ sauce.  It is delish.  It’s like having a backyard BBQ between a burger bun – spicy, tangy, creamy avocado and smoky flavors of bacon.  I’m making myself want one just writing about it…

My hubby loves the double decker, Wahlburger’s #1 best seller.  A two stack of burgers with all the fixin’s which include government cheese and the tangy ‘wahl sauce’.

When you go, you really, really need to get the onion rings.  They are unbelievable.  Shoestring style onion rings which we all love (including my little ones who aren’t crazy for onions).  I think the Bermuda onions make them slightly sweeter and they are oh, so crispy.  The parsley and salt really bring out the flavor.  And those tater tots, when you take a bite you’ll think you’ve gone to potato heaven.  Memories of your childhood will come flooding back, but only better.

We’re big fans of the Wahlberg actors but didn’t know about the the restaurant. Wish there was one near us–it looks great. (I checked out their website.)

Hi Danielle, you really are making me very hungry, so much so that I am tempted to get on a Greyhound bus and come visit just for the burger, LOL Seriously, thanks for sharing and Happy New Year. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
