DIY Minion Temporary Tattoos

My boys love the minions!

Are your kids minion crazy too?

We went to see the Minion Movie the other night in the harbor and we all couldn’t stop laughing.  We, of course, loved the parts set in England but also loved hearing their dialogue part French, part Spanish, part minion and all so happy!

If you’re kids are anything like mine and adore these little yellow creatures then they’ll love this little DIY.

Silhouette sent me some tattoo paper and we made some temporary tattoos of minions to give his friends in the goodie bags. This was back in February.  Well, after seeing the movie we had to celebrate all things minions again.

John drew the minions with colored pencils and we scanned them into the computer.  So even if your kids aren’t crazy for minions you could turn their own artwork into temporary tattoos with the silhouette tattoo paper.

Here’s how we made ours:

DIY Minion Temporary Tattoos

Materials

• Hand drawn minions by my son.
• Tattoo Paper from Silhouette
• Silhouette Portrait for cutting

Method

Create your design – John used colored pencils to create his minions.  He also included the crazy purple minions from Despicable Me 2. If you don’t want to draw your own, silhouette has so many fun images that you can use too. If you like how John’s tattoos came out you can click the below image and use these.  FREE PRINTABLE:

Scan – the picture in and resize so they are the right size.  We then duplicated the minions so we could have more than one of each.

Print your images onto the Silhouette Tattoo Paper – We did a practice run with paper to make sure it looked okay.  Use your ink jet printer to print onto the special tattoo paper.  Allow to dry.

Apply the Adhesive to your Tattoo Paper – Apply the adhesive layer to your tattoo paper.  Make sure to rub out the bubbles.

Cut your Tattoos Out – The Silhouette machine is fast and easy to cut the intricate details out of each tattoos. Use the print and cut feature.

Pop off your Tattoos – Since they are double cut they pop out easily.

The tattoos work just like temporary tattoos you buy at the store.  Simply take off the plastic cover and place them image side down.

Apply a wet paper towel and count to 30!
