This year is very special to us. It is our first Christmas in this home.
I don’t think I can say new home anymore as we’ve been here for seven months. The house is not done by any means and my “to do” list is a mile, no actually miles long, but we are savoring every wonderful moment leading up to Christmas.
Welcome to our home! I’ve decorated with vintage items and fresh greenery. Sadly the snow has melted so it won’t be a white Christmas here in Scituate.
Come on in and take your boots off:
Straight ahead is our living room which is all decked out:
with vintage finds, fresh greenery and drop cloth stockings! If you want to learn how to make them click here. You can find more on the mantel here. Opposite the mantel in the window is our Christmas tree which the boys decorated:
My desk (which will at some point be painted) is also adorned with greenery and a handmade gift from my friend Elise of Tinkered Treasures –
Through the archway of our living room is the dining room which I revealed here. It is looking quite Christmas-y:
A simple boxwood wreath from Decor Steals, a lace runner topped with paperwhites and ornaments:
Simple and soft and beachy:
And the full room:
We’re so excited to be hosting Christmas here this year.
Then through the kitchen and to the side of the house, the sunroom. Why not have a bit of our homemade peppermint bark on the way through.
The sunroom is decorated with our old artificial tree and fresh greenery:
Mini skates on the back door:
The tree strew with lights, pearls and starfish:
A vintage herb crate filled with ever green and candles:
For me, decorating with nature and vintage finds makes the holidays special. As you all know, I love marching off to the woods with the boys and the dog or visiting my friend MaryAnn’s and clipping greenery.
It smells so amazing in our house.
Shall we venture upstairs? The whole house isn’t decked out but there are little touches of Christmas everywhere.
On landing upstairs:
“Jack” is still for sale but not sure if Luke really wants me to sell him…
The boys each have a little tree in their room –
John decorated this one. Doesn’t it look real? An Ikea find from last year. While their train set (which only comes out at Christmas) runs through their adjoining wall and under their beds.
Even the bathroom has a little touch of Christmas with a ball jar and more holly:
So there is our Coastal Christmas House Tour! Looking through all these photos – I’m realizing our color theme is blue (lots of blue), green and red.
I’ll be back on Christmas to wish you a Happy One but will probably be a bit quiet on the blog for the next week or two as I plan on spending as much time as possible with our little guys. They are growing up so fast and I don’t want to miss a minute of this magical time with them.
