Princess Grace Dresser (Before & After)

Meet Grace!

Princess Grace Dresser (After)
Princess Grace, actually!
This dresser is fit for a princess from the deep lilac shade (the color of royalty) down to the glittering knobs.  If I had a little girl in my home she would be jumping for joy.  Alas, I have two princes with a love for all things nautical (and not much purple).

Here’s what the dresser looked like before:

And this is how the top looked:

This was a great, Lexington dresser in classic white. The before was fine, but she needed a little love and a little glitz.

I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Emile for this piece.  What girl doesn’t love purple?  Growing up I had Laura Ashley lilac wall paper and this would have looked amazing with it!  Anyway, I did a few coats of Emile with my lovely Annie Sloan paint brush.  Once it was dry, I distressed around the drawers and on the edges.

I applied Annie Sloan clear wax to seal the entire piece. I added some of Miss Mustard Seed’s Antiquing Wax to the distressed areas and around the edges and I love the look it gave the piece.

Well, here’s how Princess Grace looks all dolled up:

I love the molding details:

The knobs are my favorite.  They are Mercury Glass knobs from Anthropologie and sparkle in all light:

I also really love the turned feet.

This one is just so pretty!  Do you know a girl who would love it for her room?  Grace is currently looking for her forever home, perhaps one with many tea parties and princess attire.

Love the proportions of this chest of drawers, it looks so English !
Great makeover Danielle, I think I need to splash out on an Annie Sloan paint brush, or maybe I’ll put it on my Christmas list !

So pretty! Emile looks great with the Silver accents. I’m sure Grace will find a new home with another lucky princess soon!

Grace is so pretty and I absolutely LOVE the mercury knobs. I haven’t bought any Emile yet but this makes me think I’m going to pick up a can next time I’m at the paint shop. Thanks for linking up at Doodles & Stitches.
