GMC Hidden Treasure Adventure Day 3

Well, we’re still at it!  Just woke up for Day 4 for of our GMC Hidden Treasure Adventure and thought I should share yesterday’s journey!

We started off in Florence, KY and needed a Starbucks to start our day.  Some rains showers joined us yesterday morning too as we walked around fields.

Coca Cola and Stadium Seats

Somewhere along the way we took a wrong turn or two or three and we ended up in Indiana!!!!  Yes, I know 127 does NOT go through Indiana so we had to do a bit more driving to get back on it.  I will say that Indiana looked like a lovely place and wish we could have stayed a bit longer….

I have to admit I was a little worried that I wouldn’t find anything after our little “joy ride” to Indiana BUT we stumbled on some really great stuff yesterday.

This antique shop in Seven Mile was so fun to walk around.

Taryn from Design, Dining and Diapers got so much great stuff here:

A further bit down the road in Camden, OH we found some really great things for our rooms.  Yes, the furniture gods were smiling on us there.  Oh, and everyone in this field seemed to be expecting us.  They’d heard on the news and the radio we were coming…. AND they welcomed us with open arms.  Also, got to have a few photos with these lovely people.

Do you love this dresser I found?  I think it is from the 1800s and has a great marble top.  I’m actually planning on keeping it “as is” for the mother’s bedroom because it is in pretty good shape and we only have 6 hours to do up the rooms!

I LOVE the little marble top and the antique pulls.  I got this dresser and a green crate for $55 and they  gave me a bunch of frames and a woven side table. This mother and son team were so lovely and kept offering us more and more.

These cars look a bit more rusty then the GMC Yukons we’re all driving:

I will tell you we get some strange  looks, especially when we drive in convoy.

Here’s another lovely person we met in the same field! This is Bonnie from Paint Misbehavin’ and she was so excited to see us.  She offered me any of her hand painted signs for free.  I chose this “Antiques” sign that will look perfect in the mother’s room.  If you’re in the area please visit Bonnie, I love her signs!

Speaking of signs, we couldn’t resist these:

Allison got some for the playroom!  The man who ran this booth started a chapter of Habitat for Humanity up here in OH and gave her a great deal on the sign and threwin another for free.

I was so tempted to get this for my little boy:

John St sign

I’m missing John and Conor right now…

The day ended with a stop at Sonic (we don’t have them in MA) for some Root Beer Floats.  You all know how I love my ice cream!

Now it’s Day 4 and we’ll be saleing a bit more on the way to Cincinnati and stopping at a few Restores along the way.  I need to get a few more decorative items for the room.  We’ll be starting to work on items for our rooms this afternoon.

If you missed Days 1 and 2 you can see a recap here.

Be sure to follow our adventure with the hashtag #GMCHTA on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

All my friends are finding great things along the World’s Longest Yard Sale for our Habitat for Humanity Homes.

What an experience, Danielle! So glad you’re enjoying the whole thing. You are the perfect person for this – I just know you’re pouring your whole self into this makeover.

Certainly have to agree with previous commentor. You are the perfect person for this.
Oh that root beer float made me thirsty for one. We didn’t have Sonics in MT or CA either when we lived there. Couldn’t get enuf of them when we’d go to Bowling Green, have them here in Grand Junction also. Yeah hoo
Take care gal. Great photo of Taryn, she looks so skinny after having a baby a year ago. Great goodies she found also.

I’m enjoying your journey and had to tell you that there is a Sonic in MA- in Wilmington! So, if you’re ever north of Boston, check it out. I love when my kids have a soccer or softball game in Wilmington because it means we get to stop at Sonic! 🙂
