Fit Fridays: Green Smoothie

Are your favorite jeans feeling too tight lately?  Did you delight in too many Christmas cookies or perhaps, too many Christmas cocktails?

Well, all my favorite clothes are feeling too tight and, yes, I completely overindulged this past holiday.  Due to the hustle and bustle of the season I also neglected going to my exercise classes.  There always seemed to be something else I had to do or somewhere else I had to be; looking back I probably made excuses or thought I was too tired to get up early.  In any event, I’m not super happy with the extra weight I’ve gained and also would like to have more energy in the day.

Over New Year’s we found out some of our friends were feeling exactly the same.  All of us could pinch more than an inch and weren’t feeling so happy.  So we’re taking part in a slimming competition.  We’re doing couples vs. couples and who ever loses the most in percentage wins.  We did this same competition a few years back and it worked like a charm!

I thought you could all join me on this journey.  This is week one.  Weigh in is tonight.  Each week I’ll be sharing a delicious and nutritious recipe to try.

In September I told you about a Green Smoothie cleanse which I loved.  It was with Shannon over at Balance and since the cleanse I’ve added smoothies to my diet.  This is my favorite one!

Best Smoothie Ever

2 Cups of Tangerine Juice or Orange Juice (We use Orange Juice or some fresh oranges)

Fresh Fruit

1/2 a container of baby spinach (the more the better)
1/4 pineapple
1 mango (I use frozen ones right now)

Cut all your fruit up.

Place in your blender and liquify.  You may need to add extra water.
Breakfast is served!  It is so yummy!
I also wanted to thank so many of you for linking up your Word for 2013.  I had so much fun reading your intentions and hopes for this new year.
This Sunday I’ll start doing a link party “Silver Pennies Sundays” where you can link up your crafts, recipes, painted furniture or whatever you’d like to share!  I’m so excited to party with you on a weekly basis.  Make sure to stop by to link up on Sunday!

That smoothie sounds good! I’ll have to give it a try. Would be a great thing to do on a busy morning since I can drink it during my commute.
