1st Blogiversary Giveaway

If you're not sure what a blogiversary is you aren't alone.  I didn't know last year.  In blogland - a blogiversary is a blog's anniversary or birthday party!  Today Finding Silver Pennies is turning 1!  I remember when I first started the blog, I didn't even know what I was doing or what I wanted, I just knew that I had to express myself in some creative way.

I wrote my first post introducing myself, my family and my little corner of the world in Scituate, MA.  When I hit the publish button, I was nearly shaking.  What if somone read it?!?  I'm not sure how many people read it minutes after I posted it (possibly only Luke and my parents).  I'm not sure anyone really knew I was there yet.  If you missed it, here is how I started.

Slowly but surely the blog has grown and grown.  I am so grateful for all my faithful followers.  I so appreciate you reading and all your comments.  You keep me going.  Out of it all, I think "meeting" all of you and hearing your stories means the most to me.

I particularly love this piece of driftwood that the boys and I found on Egypt Beach.  The blue, green and brown chippy paint were on the wood.  I didn't add anything there.  The sail is made out of linen and attached with some fun red and white striped twine.

This 16" x 16" cotton pillow is already filled with poly fiber and ready to pop on your sofa or bed!  This saying is very popular here in Scituate.  Many homes and boats have this flag waving.  These words were the last battle cry by Captain James Lawrence during the War of 1812 off the coast of Scituate.  But even apart from the history, the statement and sentiment is a great one.

I particularly love the the backing fabric.  It is very nautical with blues, reds and tans.  I hope you all love it as much as I do:
