| Salad Party at Holly Hill Farm |
Over the weekend, we picked up some yummy veggies from Sweet Georgia P's. Red leaf lettuce, rainbow swiss chard and sweet carrots are the base of this salad. But you can use any ingredients fresh from your garden or local farm stand:

I know bottled dressings are easy, but it so yummy to make your own using stuff you probably have in the house:
Balsamic Dressing
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (I like Roman Table's)
Balsamic (I also like Roman Table's)
Garlic (1 clove chopped)
Fresh herbs of your choice (Basil, Oregano, Thyme, Sage)
Pepper to taste

Then simply pour your dressing over your salad and toss. The salad is ready to serve, perfect alone or with grilled chicken, fish or vegetable kebabs. I'm sure you'll love it and even the smallest one in your family may surprise you. I couldn't believe how Conor inhaled the salad we had at Holly Hill!

looks delish! I have a question for you: my cousin recently painted her china cabinet and is looking to re-do her dining table. I showed her your website for inspiration and she loved the idea of leaving the legs wood and painting the top. Do you have any recommendations for how to finish the table top so that is not shiny but still kid proof? If you have time you can email me at danielle.platzer@gmail.com. Would love your insight :)
ReplyDeleteI just came over from your comment on my blog, and I am SO happy to be a new follower :)

Yum - nothing better than fresh dressing! I like to throw a little lemon in mine too! Your trip to Holly Hill farm looks fabulous - nothing better than fresh vegetables and a day out with the kids!

Looks yummy :) I don't make fresh dressing but I should! This is a good motivator :)
ReplyDeleteI love salad, but don't eat enough of it. If it was just a bit warmer and sunnier, I think I'd have it every day.
ReplyDeleteHow great that your children enjoy their veggies !
