| Vintage Plant Stand (After) |
With all the plants growing in the garden, I was inspired to redo this little plant stand. Before it was completely dark stained. Here is what it looked like:

Here is a close up of the base after adding the dark wax:
The actual wood on this piece is so cool. Can you see that bubbling and texture of the orignal stain?:

I know some are scared to use the dark wax, but it is so much fun and do you want to know a secret? If you put too much dark wax on, you can just use the clear wax to erase it. That's a little tip from Annie herself :)

What do you think of this before and after? I think my violets are so happy here!

I love how you did the detailing in a darker colour and made it stand out. Your table looks refreshed and vintage at the same time! Nice job. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteAbout half an hour ago I was doing that exact thing - taking off some dark wax with AS clear wax, no kidding ! It didn't look nearly as good as your plant stand. Love the original texture and dark stain showing through, great job Danielle.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
ReplyDeleteCame over from Elizabeth & Co, to see your table. Love the distressing - it brings out the true beauty of the piece!

Love It...thanks for the great tips...you did a beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shari. So happy you stopped by.
DeleteThe dark wax really makes this piece, especially with the dark wood left in parts. It looks great! I used the dark wax on my project, too. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Melisa, I love the dark wax. It is so much fun to play with.
DeleteWhat a difference! It looks great! Saw you at the Curb Alert party!

ReplyDeleteMuch cuter now!
ReplyDeleteIt looks really cute! I found your blog reading through the comments of an old Perfectly Imperfect post of my friend and fellow stockist Shauna. I noticed you were from Massachusetts, and that is where my new shop is, just opened last month in Malden Mass. Our close friends live in Scituate, its so pretty there!! I am adding you to my blog roll so I can follow along with a fellow Massachusetts girl who loves Chalk Paint™!
ReplyDeleteLooks great. I love dark wax EVEN more after this post if that is even possible. Such wonderful wax - right on sister! Thanks for linking up this week!
