Learning to Dance in the Rain

“My life is like a stroll on the beach… as near to the edge as I can go.”
– Henry David Thoreau

The bleak, gray skies here in Scituate are really getting me down. The large droplets of rain falling in my eyes and the constant mist which is hanging over us just won’t go.  We are beach bums, though, as you all know.  Nothing keeps us from the beach, let alone a little rain.  For some reason even a really wet, horrible day can be beautiful at the beach.  The waves and sky line melding into one.  The sound of the surf is the one constant reminder to be calm.

So at the beach, we danced in the rain!  We chased sea gulls, we chased Poppy.  We laughed, and got soaking to the bone wet.

We also sat and listened to the crash of the tide, examined this beautiful moss growing up the concrete sea wall, searched the horizon for passing ships and shared thoughts of how wonderful it will be when the sun finally does come out.

Happy Friday, Everyone!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.  If you have time, please check out our fantastic giveaway with Antique Graphique here.  Today is the last day to enter.  I’ll announce the winner tomorrow around noon.
