On The Irish Riviera

According the US census Scituate is the most Irish town in America.  On the Irish Riviera we celebrate our love for all things Irish in style- Irish knit sweaters, Guinness at TK O’Malley’s and we have many little ones skilled at Irish step dancing.

We do love ourselves a good parade.  Each year, the Irish festivities start with an honorary mayor election to raise funds for the parade and culminates in the parade itself.  This will be our 5th year attending the and we wouldn’t miss it.

Hundreds of people line the streets to get a glimpse of the many bands, step dancers, clowns, bagpipes, politicians. You get the idea.  It really is an amazing and fun day.  This year’s parade is on Sunday, March 18th at 1pm.  It starts up at Gates Middle School and winds its way to Front Street.  Another perk of this year’s parade is that Nona’s Homemade Ice Cream will hopefully be open in its second location – in Scituate.  Hoping to see locals down there and if you aren’t local, I’ll share pictures on Monday!
