Hand-Made Holiday: Valentine’s Garland & Decorating

I am very, very behind on Valentine’s decorating, but Conor and I are having fun making this boy household a little pink and red for the upcoming holiday.

We added model magic heart ornaments that we made at Christmas to the mantel:

And have been enjoying these gorgeous pink Gerbera Daisies on the coffee table:

The other day we made sweet paper and twine garlands out of items we had around the house.

Materials:
Card Stock
Heart Puncher
Hole Puncher
Twine
Stickers
Fabric Scraps

We had most of the above around the house:

First you’ll want to measure out the twine and figure out how long you need and punch out your hearts:
Conor trying hard

This may be harder for younger hands so you may need to help them with this.  Then I had Conor choose heart stickers and we stuck them on and threaded them onto the twine:

In our entry way we kept it just pink hearts:
But we added some fabric scraps from the fabric scrap garlands we made over Christmas and thought it added a softness to the paper:
It is the simple things and the crafts that make Valentine’s special for me.
