My Word for 2012

Layla, from The Lettered Cottage, has asked us to think about a word for the year which will mean something to us.   I thought long and hard.  There are so many words that could apply to my life right now with young children.  Words that spring to mind are: patience, breathe and time.  But those don’t seem right.  They don’t seem as optimistic as I want to be for 2012.

My word for 2012 is:

Creativity

Since starting the blog in August.  I’ve had this intense yearning to create beautiful things for myself and others.  Each day I’m finding so much enjoyment from:

Painting a wall:

or furniture:
Sewing with my new sewing machine:
Cooking with my kids:

Writing about my life and my dreams here on Silver Pennies.  Sharing moments of my life with you:

These little expressions of creativity, these little sparks of energy, well, they are making me so happy.  In 2012, I plan on creating a whole lot more and for the first time, in a very long time, I’m excited to do something for myself.  To have a creative outlet.  Hope you are ready to share this creative journey with me.

Thanks! I loved your word – wait. I can relate. My husband always comments how I try to get everything done yesterday.

I’m so glad you liked the hot chocolate. I love the mix of creamy milk, chocolate and nuts. Yum. It must be freezing up there in Nova Scotia. I’d love to get there some day. That is where my grandmother was from.
